America, the deep South. Jeff and his young daughter Alice lead a transient life: always on the road, always moving from town to town. They don’t need much: Alice adores her daddy and she is Jeff’s whole world.
But Jeff does need Alice. She’s his bait. The cute little kid who lures in young women. The women Jeff rapes and murders.
Suspecting that Alice is beginning to realise what their little ‘game’ is all about, Jeff makes a decision: he has to stop. They settle down in a small town in Louisiana, find a spot in a trailer park, and try to establish some kind of life together. Jeff finds a job. Alice starts attending school. Jeff even begins dating someone, Alice’s teacher Hannah.
But it isn’t easy going straight. Alice is furiously jealous of Hannah and manipulates her father, who is terrified that Alice will reveal their secret. And Jeff is trying to control himself, but the urge to kill threatens to urges to overwhelm him at any moment. How long can they pretend to be normal?
Lena Rae is a talented young writer whose television credits include Lip Service, Taggart, and Killer Instinct.
Simon Rumley is becoming a major horror and thriller director. Among his credits as writer-director are Red White & Blue, The Living and the Dead, and The Truth Game.
